“…..a lot of very complex and difficult work lies ahead…,” reported Ernie Soehl in the latest post from the Teamsters National Freight Industry Negotiating Committee.
Bargaining occurred over this past week and Soehl reported progress on non-economic issues and the establishment of subcommittees to address various issues such as the shortage of CDL drivers, purchased transportation, creating more full time jobs, job security, and the “unique nature” of operations at Holland.
The latest bulletin has very little new information. Teamsters at YRC, Holland and New Penn know the issues we face and stand ready to win a fair contract. That means making the bargaining far more transparent and uniting members.
To win a good contract will take organization and a clear sense of what we need. Sign up for contract updates from Freight Teamsters United.
